#everywomancampaign

It can feel exhausting browsing online for clothing only to see one type of model representing the clothing. When I see tall size 0 models – most often white, perfectly toned, and expertly airbrushed, I find it hard to picture my own lumpy and bumpy size 8/10 body in the outfit. I immediately assume that the garment won’t look the same on me. And you know what? It usually doesn’t.

The companies that use homogeneous marketing to sell their clothing are often the same companies that fit their entire size range on a slim size 2 fit model. I've learned that clothing designed for a fit model with ultra proportional measurements, won’t fit me – an 8 on top, 10 on bottom, thick thigh-ed and soft bellied gal- the intended way. That’s why I fit all Free Label garments on my own body. Because I want my shape to be represented. I also make sure to create shapes and silhouettes that work for variety of body types. I don’t think there is a single garment in the world that will work for every single body since we’re all so beautifully diverse (thank god for that!!), but I am committed to making clothing that you can feel good in, no matter your shape.

This season I really wanted to show the beauty in our standard size range during the warmer months. I think summer is a difficult time for many people because a lot more skin is shown, and its harder to layer and cover up (which lets face it, many of us have tried to do at point time or another). So it was important to me to capture diverse and vibrant women wearing the SS19 collection with ease. And these women delivered. Take a look through the campaign photos below and allow yourself to be inspired by the comfort and beauty of the everywoman.

This was the first collection that I began to introduce some pieces in size 2X. So far the response has been great (we actually sold out of almost all 2X pieces before the shoot) so I look forward to shooting the 2X size for a FW19 #everywomancampaign. Thanks for your patience as I expand our size range with care. For more Everywoman Campaign images, follow us on Instagram: @free.label
