A few of our favorite things...
I am 5'3 and waist is between 34 and 32 depending on the day. Hips are 41.5. I have longer legs and a short torso, they hit at my natural waist and a few inches above the knee. I purchased a medium.
First of all, the fit is excellent. The waist goes all the way up to my ribcage, so when paired with either the Dani or Becky bra there's actually overlap. I kinda wanted a small sliver of skin to show when wearing as a set, but no big deal. The waistband doesn't roll and is double layered so feels nice and secure, doesn't ride down. The leg hem does not dig into my skin like some bike shorts do and I find they hit at a good spot about an 1 or 2 above the knee. They are super comfy and nicely fitted.
There are two cons however, which is the reason for 3-4 stars. Because there is a middle seam I found sometimes there was a camel toe effect. The second is that they are not squat proof. However, I think both of these can be mitigated with underwear choice and personally I do not find this a deterrant to keeping the article.
I almost feel badly for my other shorts considering how often I know I'm going to be wearing these! So cute and so comfortable! They have just the right amount of compression to make you feel supported without feeling constricting or squishing bits out. The waist is nice and high and feels great. The best part is the length - I have long legs and this is the first time I think I've had a short that hits right above the knee where I want it to. Love! I'm a small in other Free Label bottoms and I would say these fit true to size.
