Free Label is looking for a full time in office employee to play a significant role in building out our production processes and relationships. The production coordinator will work closely with the owner and operations coordinator in their downtown Vancouver office and East Vancouver warehouse to assist running the day-to-day operations of Free Label and create and implement strategy for sustainable growth. This role focuses largely on notion sourcing, textile production and sourcing, garment production and order fulfilment.

This position is a unique and exciting opportunity to contribute to Free Label as we grow our impact on slow fashion and our community. The salary band for this role is $46-$54k depending on relevant experience and skillset, plus health spending. The expectation is that this person's role and compensation will grow with the brand.


-Worked closely with others in a team environment, whether in a small business or in a corporate setting

-Worked with home sewers and/or factories

-Created tech packs

-Imported and exported goods

-Demonstrated ability to set, achieve and surpass goals

-The right candidate can be trained


-Intellectual and emotional intelligence to critique and improve ethical business values

-Entrepreneurial sense of urgency executing job responsibilities, prioritizing urgent and important work

-Strong relationship builder

-Direct communicator; can provide and take feedback on a journey to personal and professional growth

-Ability to create detailed tech packs for local and overseas production

-Understanding of the technical design process for ease of communication with technical pattern designer

-Socially conscious and actively unlearning ingrained white supremacy

-Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds (fabric rolls and boxes)

-Driver’s license and access to a car is an asset but not necessary


-Work with suppliers pre, during, and post production to ensure that fabric, trims, and finishings are executed to our highest standards

-Work directly and closely with company owner and operations coordinator to seamlessly lead day to day functions of production

-Source and order textiles, notions and labels; always seeking out the best sustainably and ethically produced options

-Source and order compostable and eco-friendly packaging

-Coordinate textile samples, lab dips, garment samples and inspections

-Assist owner with sales analytics and reports for sustainable production forecasting

-Daily communication and relationship building with contractors and partners, such as fabric producers, factories, pattern designer, and shipping department

-Assist in collection planning, designing and fittings

-Assist with daily menial tasks and support customer care role when necessary

-Assist in order fulfillment during launches or in times of need
