This skort (skapri) is so comfortable and also fun to wear! It's comfortable enough that you actually want to wear it at your work-from-home job, but can be easily dressed up for your office job. I love a piece like this that has visual interest and a little something different, but is easy to wear. The design is even smarter than I realized. I thought that there were extra pieces of fabric sewn across, but the front skirt is actually made from one of the legs, which is much wider than the other and draped in such a genius way, making the pants feel flowy and light. They're nice and breezy, which I imagine will be nice when the summer starts to heat up, but still keeping you covered from the sun.
I read and re-read reviews trying to pick the right size for me and found it helpful when people gave their measurements. My hips are 44", which suggests I would be a size medium according to the size chart, but size charts always confuse me because I don't fit within that same hip-to-waist ratio. My waist (39" from the smallest part) would make me a size XL, which would make the hip measurement seem big on me. Usually it's fine if I go with the hip size for pants, and because these looked so loose and stretchy, I thought it would be fine (and was a little concerned about them being TOO big).
Unfortunately, the medium, while I thought it looked good on me, wasn't comfortable because the waistband dug into my waist. While the fabric is stretchy, the seam of the waistband just didn't feel good on me, and I need my clothes to feel good, not just look good! While it would have been nice to have guessed the right size the first time (so I'm hoping this might help someone else!) the return process turned out to be very easy and I was able to order the large pants right away, which fit great.
The rise does come to the small of my waist (so about 39"), but there is still lots of stretch in the band and yet it's snug enough to stay up, with a cinched elastic in the back. And thankfully, it's a nice relaxed fit but still makes my butt look good and I don't feel it's too loose. I don't think I actually noticed too much of a difference in how it looked between the medium and large if that helps, it's just that it's much more comfortable in my proper size!
