NAVY LYOCELL ISLA TOP

I wanted to love the Isla so badly! The design is stunning (somehow looks even better in person!), and as always, Free Label's lyocell knit fabric is to die for. Unfortunately, I didn't love the fit on me. I am 5'2 and curvy. My bust is around 35-36", waist is around 29", and hips are around 40". But I have a shorter torso, and I felt like the Isla overwhelmed my frame. I am typically a small or medium in Free Label tops/bras. I went with a small in the Isla and easily could've sized down to an XS because the fabric is so stretchy. But I didn't think sizing down would address the underlying fit issues for me, so I returned it. This would be perfect for someone taller, with a longer torso, or more of an apple shape! Gorgeous top, just not quite right for me.

As soon as I saw this, I needed both colours. Material is soft, fits over my large bust perfectly. I am a 38 H with a 37 inch waist and the XL fits perfectly.

So let me start this review by saying, the Isla top is BEAUTIFUL. So well thought out, such incredible fabric, and absolutely beautiful construction. However, I don't love it on me. I am 5'4" and kind of curvy. Bust is 38" and narrowest part of my waist is 29". The ruching seems to have a bit too much fabric on the outer layer and almost droops at that narrow part on me, especially on the cowl neck side. The inner layer feels like it fits well. I got this in a medium. I usually wear a large in Free Label bras and bamboo tops, but wear a medium in most other clothing and tops. I am not sure if sizing down to a small would work as the top fits me nicely at the waist and hips. I think if I were taller, or had a less "curvy" body type, that this would have knocked it out of the park. I am rating it four stars because of how awesome it is, just not necessarily awesome for *me.*

As soon as i saw the isla, i knew i needed both colours. My dream shirt as a top heavy person. Fits over my large bust and can be dressed up or down, i have been layering a sweater over top on cooler days. I am a 38h bust and the xl fits perfectly.
